How to Play
Trivia Traitor is a social deduction and trivia game. Players team up to answer questions. They use each other's knowledge to uncover the hidden traitor and tricksters. It's like a night of pub trivia with a dose of betrayal!
Did your friend really not know that mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell? Did the movie buff really think it was Hooper and not Brody in Jaws who says "You're gonna need a bigger boat"? It's up to you to figure out if they simply didn't know or were trying to sabotage the team!
The Team wins by filling the Team Track with correct answers or by identifying the Traitor with a Tactical Card.

The Traitor and Tricksters win by surviving to the end without the Team Track reaching its goal.
Team Trickster Traitor
TEAMWork with the group to answer questions and achieve the goal.
TRICKSTERWork in secret against the team, misleading the team without getting caught. Tricksters don't know who other Tricksters or the Traitor are.
TRAITORWork in secret against the team, misleading the team without getting caught. The Traitor knows who the Tricksters are. If revealed by a Tactical Card the team wins.
QUIZMASTER (QM)Picks the Team Leader, chooses a trivia card to read, and locks in the final answer. Rotates each turn.
TEAM LEADER (TL)Chosen by the QM each turn. Gives the final answer and decides whether to wager a card to unlock multiple choice.
OTHER PLAYERSWork with the Team Leader to answer the trivia question. The Team Leader has the final say.
Guide card
At the start of the game a Guide Card is placed in the center of the board showing the role counts, goal, tactical cards, and vote cards for your player count.
1. The QM picks a Team Leader.
2. The QM reads a trivia question aloud from their hand. The multiple choice is only read when the TL wagers a card.
3. The Team Leader and Other Players work together to answer the question. Only the Team Leader can give the final answer.
4. The TL can wager one of their trivia cards to unlock the multiple choice option.
5. The QM locks in Correct or Wrong on their phone.
Correct answer: the QM's card goes to the Team Track. Any wagered card stays with the Team Leader.
Wrong answer: the QM's card goes to the Traitor Track. Any wagered card goes to the Traitor Track.
Vote card
Every 2nd card added to the Traitor Track triggers a vote. Each player has a set number of Vote Cards for the whole game. Players use their Vote Cards to vote for the player they trust most. The player with the most votes earns a Tactical Card. Ties are broken by the Team Leader.
Tactical cards can be used at any time to publicly reveal a player's alignment. If the Traitor is revealed this way, the Team wins immediately. If it is a Team player or Trickster, the card user privately reassigns that player a new alignment. Only the reassigned player is told.
The Traitor and Tricksters must read questions truthfully and confirm correct answers honestly. However, when reading the multiple choice options aloud, they may lie, invent fake answers, or leave out the correct one.
Example: "What is the name of the character in Jaws who famously says 'You're gonna need a bigger boat'?"
A Trickster might read "Sean Brody" instead of "Chief Martin Brody", or invent "Mike Brody" as an option.
The Team wins by reaching the goal on the Team Track or by finding the Traitor with a Tactical Card.
The Traitor and Tricksters win if the Team Track can't reach its goal and all tactical cards have been used.
